MACEDON. Koinon of Macedon. Time of Gordian III, 238-244. Triassarion (Bronze, 25.5 mm, 12.82 g, 12 h), Beroia. AΛEΞANΔΡ-OΥ (beginning below right and reading outwards) Head of Alexander the Great to right wearing lion's skin headdress; below, thunderbolt. Rev. KOINON MAKEΔΟΝΩΝ Β NEΩ Two hexastyle temples facing, symbolizing the 2nd Neocoria of the Koinon. Unpublished with these legends and types. Well-centered and with a dark patina. Scratch on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
